I'm testing all kinds of new techniques. I want to get better quality in my artworks. I am looking at the workflow of other artists and see what I can use in my own workflow. I want to create a workflow that gives me the freedom to split apart certain phases of a artwork. I want to design with shapes, value and colour, and not so much with a linedrawing. I'm looking for a way to not always think about light on a surface and how it reacts. I want these parts to be more seperate AND get a good result.

Have you played with this; jamajurabaev.deviantart.com/ar… kind of workflow before? You can get some interesting results when you're using shapes with textured layers transformed in for planes.
Locking layers and using Overlay/Multiply/Colourdodge for lighting and other antics yields some nice things.
